Technical Project Manager

Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and deployment of IT projects supporting our intelligent inventory and automation strategy, ensuring all deliverables are met on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to foster alignment, establish clear accountability, and resolve cross‑team dependencies for automation initiatives. Serve as the primary manager for project tracking in Jira; build and maintain backlogs, track sprints, monitor velocity, and configure boards and workflows to ensure transparent progress reporting for our portfolio. Perform hands‑on IT functional work within the Cloud Label Management system, ensuring labeling systems integrate seamlessly with the overall intelligent inventory vision. Establish detailed project timelines, milestones, and KPIs for deployments; proactively identify risks, issues, and bottlenecks, implementing mitigation plans to keep critical path items on schedule. Coordinate user acceptance testing, pilot deployments, and system rollouts of automation technologies in manufacturing environments, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal operational disruption. Facilitate regular status meetings, deliver progress reports to leadership, and translate technical metrics of our automation strategy into clear business value. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related technical field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and deployments, preferably within a manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environment. Proven track record of coordinating cross‑functional teams, driving accountability, and delivering complex projects on schedule. Deep, hands‑on experience utilizing and managing Jira (or equivalent Agile tools) to track sprints, manage backlogs, and report progress. Experience performing functional IT tasks such as software configuration, application support, or system administration. Strong interest and familiarity with automation concepts, smart warehousing, or intelligent inventory systems. Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with experience working effectively across cross‑functional and global teams. Strong problem‑solving abilities and a self‑motivated, can‑do attitude toward learning and managing new technologies. Salary ranges are $86,600‑$144,900 for grade 7 and $99,100‑$166,200 for grade 8. Final determination of salary grade will be based on the candidate’s skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value. Other Information This position is hybrid, requiring onsite work four days per week for candidates who are within commuting distance to a Ford hub location.
