Job Description
PCU Registered Nurse - Progressive Care

Schedule

Weekend requirement: Minimum 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Holidays: Shifts and assignments as needed.

Assignment Details

Float pool position with no home unit; will float across several Med/Surg/PCU/Intermediate units and to other partner facilities as needed. Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience required; first-timers accepted.
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS. Preferred: ACLS.
• Must possess telemetery and cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Competency in Neuro/Stroke care, sepsis management, wound care, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, COVID-related care, and ETOH/SI care.
• Experience with central line care, blood product administration, and managing ports preferred.
• Charting system: Epic.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and laboratory results.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention.
• Document patient progress and care effectively in the EMR system.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and protocols.

Compliance / Notes

Orientation: 12 hours. Required training to be completed before the start of the assignment.
