You’ll help shape ISO 9001 readiness, internal audit cadence, documentation, risk analysis, management review, and quality training. You’ll report to a leader who wants someone collaborative, thoughtful, and willing to challenge the status quo. The role has leadership exposure without being buried in people management. Job Details The Quality Supervisor is a hands-on quality leader responsible for driving a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational accountability across the organization. This person will oversee the execution and continued development of the quality management system while maintaining strong oversight of product quality, process compliance, inspection activities, documentation, certifications, and nonconformance processes. This role is both tactical and influential. The right person will be comfortable digging into day-to-day quality work while also helping the organization move beyond basic compliance and toward true quality excellence. This includes building consistency, improving training and documentation, strengthening internal audit readiness, supporting ISO 9001 certification, and partnering cross-functionally with operations, warehouse, manufacturing, sales, customer service, and engineering. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities Champion a culture of quality by coaching associates, reinforcing standards, and helping build quality ownership across all levels of the organization Own and continuously improve the quality management system, including related software, processes, documentation, and compliance to internal and ISO 9001 standards Lead audit readiness and execution, including internal audits, external audits, documentation readiness, and follow-up actions Partner cross-functionally with operations, warehouse, manufacturing, sales, customer service, and engineering to improve end-to-end performance Own quality performance metrics, including tracking, visibility, trending, accountability, and improvement actions Analyze trends, identify risks early, and translate data into practical preventative improvements Lead, develop, and hold accountable one Quality Inspector, ensuring consistent inspection processes and high-quality execution Lead and enforce the nonconformance process, including identification, containment, disposition, documentation, corrective action, and systemic resolution Lead cross-functional root cause investigations and ensure effective, sustainable corrective and preventive actions Own the calibration program and ensure equipment is compliant, scheduled, documented, and audit-ready Ensure integrity and readiness of all quality records, certificates of compliance, training documentation, and related quality files Support continuous improvement efforts and the development of lean practices across the organization Help create consistency and clarity around quality expectations, documentation, and cross-functional process ownership Serve as a future resource to customer-facing teams by helping communicate the strength and value of the quality system where appropriate What Success Looks Like The organization successfully progresses through ISO 9001 certification while building a stronger quality foundation beyond minimum compliance Training programs, risk analysis, management review, trending analysis, internal audit routines, and documentation practices become more consistent and effective Quality becomes something supervisors, associates, and cross-functional leaders understand and own, not something handled in a silo The quality system becomes more scalable, more consistent, and more valuable to internal teams and customers The team gains the final 5-10% of quality maturity through better systems, clearer expectations, and stronger cross-functional follow-through Experience Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent experience 3-5+ years of experience in quality within manufacturing, distribution, light assembly, or a related environment 1-2+ years of direct or indirect supervision, team lead experience, project leadership, or cross-functional leadership Experience with ISO 9001, internal audits, audit readiness, or similar quality systems Experience with nonconformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, quality documentation, or product requirements Internal auditor training or audit experience preferred Familiarity with lean or continuous improvement methodologies preferred Experience with calibration systems, document control, quality records, or certificates of compliance preferred Manufacturing experience is helpful, but light assembly, distribution, or similarly process-driven environments will also translate well Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills High attention to detail and process discipline Ability to balance hands-on execution with system-level thinking Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration Comfort influencing people without making decisions in a silo Ability to challenge the status quo while bringing people along Strong organizational and prioritization skills Tenacity, maturity, perseverance, and ownership Ability to operate in a fast-moving environment where the learning curve may feel like drinking from a fire hose Interested in hearing more?
