Public Health Licensed Practical Nurse 1, 2, or 3 Henry County Health Department District 4 Public Health 135 Henry Parkway McDonough, GA 30253 Under broad supervision, provide assistance to public health nurses and county programs, delivering general direct nursing care. Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication, and giving injections. Assigned to specific clinical duties within the scope of an LPN practice in public health and may act as lead worker over specified projects or programs. All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in events such as staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). Participation is required whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours. Job Responsibilities Administer immunizations to patients of all ages according to established guidelines and procedures. Perform annual school and daycare immunization audits. Complete quarterly reports. Assist with annual scoliosis screenings. Participate in health fairs and educational programs. Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests in clinic and outreach events. Prepare to respond to public health emergencies and respond as directed. Use computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data. Participate in program planning. Communicate in writing, orally, and through electronic means with proper terminology and cultural proficiency. Incorporate strategies for interacting with persons from diverse backgrounds (e.g., cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, gender, age, ethnic, sexual orientation, professional, religious affiliation, mental and physical capabilities). Adhere to the organization’s policies and procedures. Use individual, team, and organizational learning opportunities for personal and professional development. Minimum Qualifications PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 1 (Annual salary - $33,000) Vocational or technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college. Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. CPR certification. Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN. No experience required. PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 2 (Annual salary - $35,800) Vocational or technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college. Two years of LPN public health experience. Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. CPR certification. PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 3 (Annual salary - $38,926.79) Vocational or technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college. Four years of LPN public health experience. Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications Public health experience. Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and patient interviewing. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking language.
