Mobile Phlebotomist

Shift Schedule Full Time Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm and every other weekend. Pay Pay Range: $17.50-$21.50 based on experience with mileage reimbursement. Role The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the general supervision of the Area Phlebotomy Supervisor (APS), works to provide clinical pre‑analytical laboratory services to our clients/patients in a mobile setting. He/she is responsible for completing their assigned routes in a safe and timely manner. He/she must follow all policies and procedures. Tasks and Responsibilities Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by company dispatcher. Unload phlebotomy supplies and take them to patient’s bedside to collect samples ordered by physician. Accurately identify patient before collecting specimen(s). Accurately collect, label, process, and deliver specimens obtained from patients. Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery. Regularly communicate with dispatcher to report status and location. Strict adherence to Universal Precautions in controlling blood‑borne pathogens and infectious disease exposures. Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational requirements. Required Skills Excellent communication and interaction skills specific to the population served, including the pediatric and geriatric communities. Treat customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledging residents’ rights and patients’ right to refuse. Current, valid State phlebotomy license, if applicable. Current, valid State Driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record; possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements. Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques. Knowledge of laboratory operations. Maintains sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination.
