Job Description Merit Health River Region is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our established Emergency Department team. Emergency Department Highlights Annual ED volume: ~32,000 visits Level IV Trauma Center 14-bed Emergency Department with 4-bed Fast Track 24-hour physician coverage daily 10 hours of NP/PA coverage daily Strong specialty backup support EMR system: Cerner Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions Provide timely, evidence-based emergency care in a high-volume setting Perform necessary emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and consulting specialists Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine Current Mississippi medical license or eligibility for licensure Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency department environment Commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care Comprehensive Financial Package May Include Competitive compensation Commencement bonus Residency/Fellowship stipend Annual CME allowance Relocation assistance Licenses, dues, and subscriptions Vacation benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance If you’re ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.
