Stroke /NeuroIntervention (Inpatient)- Night Shift Advanced Practice Provider

Memorial Healthcare System’s Neuroscience Institute is seeking a motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its comprehensive team of providers. The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neuroscience specialists to deliver high-quality care for patients requiring neurointerventional and stroke-related care in an inpatient setting. Responsibilities will include responding to stroke alerts, conducting daily rounds, pre and post procedure care of patients undergoing NeuroIntervention, and writing consultation notes. Functions as a health care provider in an outpatient setting providing evidence-based care, including but not limited to, diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative health care under the general supervision of a physician. Detailed Responsibilities Practices within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team providing diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative healthcare management by performing a variety of medical or procedural tasks. Obtains complete medical history from patients and performs comprehensive and focused physical examinations appropriate for patient population. Organizes and presents historical and physical data on daily rounds, together with evaluations and recommendations, to the healthcare team in such way as to permit him/her to clearly identify a medical problem and determine appropriate diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Executes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated. Provides follow-up and health maintenance care to patients based upon accepted standards of care and best practice. Instructs and counsels patients with respect to health promotion and/or health maintenance. Maintains complete and accurate records of contacts with patients whether in person, virtually or by telephone. Candidates must have a national Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification or must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire. An ENLS certification is required within one year of employment. Schedule requirements are flexible with 12 hour shifts and one 8 hour shift every other week available primarily during the hours of 7:00pm to 7:00am, with rotating weekends and holiday coverage.
