Key Responsibilities of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist

• Perform routine and advanced imaging procedures
• Support other imaging technologists as needed
• Facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow
• Troubleshoot basic maintenance and resolve image processing issues
• Participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances
• Maintain radiation safety protocols
• Complete daily logs and periodic tests
• Comply with administrative and departmental policies
• Ensure patient confidentiality and adapt care methods as needed
• Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts or campuses as required
• Report any equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel

Requirements of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
• 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred
• Basic computer experience required
• Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required
• State Licensure required: Texas MRT by TMB
• BLS required (AHA only)
