This per diem, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to both adults and child/adolescent populations within the inpatient setting. The schedule is Monday-Friday, with a shared call rotation. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a NYS License. Core Job Responsibilities Both adult and child/adolescent positions Provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments Prescribe and manage medications Review and reassess treatment plans and progress Provide education to residents, patients, and families Demonstrate quality in documentation Participate actively in team and program meetings Shared call Must be on site EPIC EMR with Provider Support team Education/Experience Requirements REQUIRED: Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship. Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise. Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise. Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage. Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops. Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
