Quality Engineer (General)

Reports to: Quality Engineering Manager

Location: Holland, MI or Phoenix, AZ

Summary

This role drives continuous quality improvement by gathering and analyzing data, maintaining standards, proposing solutions, and communicating with all stakeholders, from operators to upper management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all quality inspections, including off-shift activities

• Submit non-conformance reports when needed and follow up to ensure problems are corrected

• Ensure accurate and standardized collection of quality data

• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and troubleshooting

• Work effectively both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

• Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure proper testing for changes in materials or dimensions

• Provide data as requested by other internal teams and headquarters

• Track and monitor SPC data across all inspections to drive future improvements

• Write and maintain work instructions

• Train operators whenever process or procedural changes occur

• Maintain cleanliness at the work site in accordance with 5S3R standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience (Master's degree preferred)

• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred)

• 0–3+ years of experience in a quality engineering or related role

• Experience with core quality documents, including Control Plans and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), is helpful

• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred

• Experience with 4M change management processes preferred
