Talascend is currently seeking an Aerospace Project Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in South Bend, Indiana .


Overview


This role involves managing aerospace engineering projects related to supply chain initiatives, including transitions, repositions, and dual-sourcing activities. The engineer will be responsible for executing tasks associated with the substantiation and validation of new or relocated sources of supply, as well as designing and improving products for cost efficiency and reliability.


Responsibilities

• Manage engineering projects related to supply chain initiatives, including transitions, repositions, and dual-sourcing activities.
• Work in conjunction with engineering team leads to execute tasks for substantiation and validation of new or relocated sources of supply.
• Design new products and improve existing products to enhance performance and reliability.
• Evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure project completion in a timely manner by collaborating with engineering staff.
• Review engineering documentation with attention to detail.
• Participate in engineering validation and substantiation activities, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
• Lead and direct the work of others as needed, relying on extensive experience and judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in aerospace engineering or a related area.
• Experience with project management, engineering substantiation, and validation processes.
• Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
