Requirements

Valid dental hygiene license in the state of Vermont
Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
Solid understanding of dental office procedures, HIPAA regulations, and patient confidentiality
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and CAD
Familiarity with dental assisting techniques and procedures
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy relevant to dental care
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented setting

Job Description

Perform thorough dental hygiene procedures including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
Take and process dental x-rays with precision
Assist dentists during procedures by providing instruments and materials efficiently
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using dental software systems (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix Ascend)
Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and ensure a clean, sterile clinical environment
