Reliability Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our chemical manufacturing operations team as an individual contributor. This new role is focused on driving long-term asset reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and strengthening equipment performance across a complex, continuous or batch chemical production environment. The schedule for this role will typically be Monday - Friday - 40 hours per week with flexibility for off-shift hours as business needs require. This position will work onsite, there is no remote work option for this role. There is no travel required for this role. A key priority of this position is the leadership and execution of a 3-year reliability improvement plan, aimed at improving asset integrity, optimizing maintenance strategies, and building a sustainable reliability culture across the site. Key Responsibilities Lead execution of a 3-year reliability improvement strategy for plant-wide assets and system. Identify and eliminate chronic equipment failures using structured reliability tools (RCFA, FMEA, Weibull analysis, etc.). Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical chemical process equipment. Analyze equipment performance data and reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, etc.). Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to improve equipment uptime and process stability. Support root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions. Evaluate and improve reliability of rotating and fixed equipment including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, reactors, and piping system. Support turnaround and outage planning with reliability-focused improvement. Develop and maintain asset strategies and life‑cycle management plan. Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and cost reduction. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements in all reliability efforts. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Minimum 5 years of reliability focused engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or heavy process industry. Strong understanding of equipment reliability principles in process manufacturing environments. Hands‑on experience with maintenance systems and reliability improvement initiatives. Proven ability to analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Strong communication skills and ability to work across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification strongly preferred. Experience developing or executing site‑wide reliability improvement programs. Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability data analysis. Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, etc.). Experience in continuous or batch chemical processing environments. What We Offer Competitive salary range of $120,000 - $125,000, plus 6% bonus potential and excellent benefits.
