Summary Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and Team Leader, conducts safe, efficient vehicle movement and parking. Conducts preparations on vehicles for various stages of logistics processing. Must be open to overtime. Responsibilities Primary Drives vehicles to designated locations. Drive and park vehicles in accordance with the vehicle handling procedures. Driver must obey all traffic laws while operating the vehicle. Drive vehicles following a set schedule or route. Driver operates their vehicles while watching their surroundings to maximize safety. Maintain constant contact with the Team Leader and keep track of pickup and drop-off locations as necessary. Prior to driving vehicles, inspect vehicles to ensure that they are damage-free and functioning correctly. Must follow all Port traffic policies and posted speed limits. Any unsafe conditions or road hazards encountered must be reported to management. If their vehicle develops mechanical difficulties or sustains damage of any type, drivers must document the problems and report to management. Read and understand parking location maps. Driver must immediately report all accidents or incidents. Secondary Prepares vehicles for various stages of processing. Performs various yard activities as directed. Performs tire pressure checks using a hand‑held pressure gauge. Performs battery condition checks using hand‑held equipment. Drives vehicles on/off conveyors. Removes exterior/interior plastic protective wrap. Drives vehicles to fueling stations and through automated car washes. Remove trash from vehicles. Complete checklists as required. All other duties as assigned by supervisor Perform scanning for various movement functions. Perform vehicle spotting for other drivers or customers. Skills Ability to understand and apply vehicle handling procedures Required Ability to read, write and count Required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required Good depth perception and hand‑eye coordination Required Ability to drive both automatic and stick shift vehicles Required Education & Experience Must hold a valid state‑issued driver's license without restrictions Required High School diploma or GED Compensation $22.55 per hour Glovis America, Inc. adheres to the equal employment opportunity guidelines set forth by federal, state, and local laws.
