Network Development Engineers partner with our broader corporate network Infrastructure organization on configurations standards and tools, and collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new designs and products, and also deploy and sustain networking software tools. Key job responsibilitiesWireless Network Development Engineers perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, technology refresh, sustaining engineering, best practices application, optimization, internal/external customer interactions, and produce appropriate technical documentation.• Design and build innovative, multi-vendor data connectivity solutions to support Amazon’s growth worldwide.• Drive scaling current network designs to meet the demand of our customers• Work with vendors and cross-functional teams for on-going design efforts and systems support.• Work closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands• Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our network quality and reliability• Work closely with our teams to assist in defining the tools we require• Create simple processes that help operate and build our networkA day in the lifeEngineers in Corporate Network Engineering organization have a wide rangeof responsibilities: we work with internal partners to develop and implement the next gen platformsalong with the tooling ecosystems to support with these platforms driving efficiency and scalabilitythrough the automation of builds, configuration deployment, and the scaling of capacity. As ournetwork is one of the largest in the world, there is no blue print at our scale allowing our engineers todevelop solutions to the complex challenges that we face daily. Our team develops tooling that provides the required visibility and control oftraffic across the network, while prioritizing the automatic mitigation of events to minimize the impact to our customers.• Work in a 24x7 team on call rotation, with ability to drive into workplace for critical events/needs.• Manage customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.• Sit at the computer during scheduled work hours with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail.About the teamAs a part of Corporate Network Engineering team, we are responsible for Corporate offices design and Edge Network which connects 500+ remote offices to the Enterprise core network as well as into AWS cloud. We own the network standards, deployment mechanisms, automation and delivery of large programs, including AWS VPC transit gateway based networks that connect our traditional networks to Native AWS. Basic qualifications- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience- 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience- 4+ years’ experience of hands-on technical engineering experience in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments.- 4+ years’ experience and knowledge of at least one vendor’s Wireless hardware - Access Points, Wireless Controllers, or Wireless client bridge and IEEE .11 standards including .11n, .11ac and .11ax- 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.Preferred qualification - 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience- Knowledge of wireless security - .1x, RADIUS, WPA2, EAP-TLS, PSK, general PKI concepts- Knowledge of RF /Survey, RF Planning and Optimization.- Experience with 3G/4G/WiMax a plus- Aruba ACDX or CCIE Wireless a plusAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
