Director Of EngineeringThe ideal candidate will plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of the R&D engineering department with emphasis on new product design and launch, continuous improvements, and cost savings.Responsibilities:Leads and directs the engineering team to obtain optimum productivity, exceed project goals, and train the entry-level engineersManages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectationsResponsible for developing and implementing manufacturing methods, ensuring the highest quality, lowest cost, lowest scrap, and optimum capacityGuide design/manufacturing concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to include standard workQuotes, purchases, and inspects new equipment required for ongoing efficient operation of process and implementation of new processesAssists in the development of processes and procedures to drive improvements and best practicesDetermines and reviews all manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and feasibility, both before and after engineering releases to manufacturingAssists with engineering releases and changes relative to routings, setting standards, data entry, and follow-upParticipates in design reviews and responsible for improving the design for manufacturability early in the design phase of new product developmentConduct a continuous search of new materials, fixtures, processes and procedures to enhance and improve the production lines to help the operation reduce overall costsWork closely with the quality and operations teams to manage root cause analysis and corrective actions related to internal and/or external quality concernsLead and assist the training of production employees in best practices of setting up equipment and tooling, maintaining processes, and troubleshooting problemsQualifications:Must have experience in new product launch and program implementationAdvanced knowledge of Power Supply Manufacturing concepts and techniquesAbility to teach, coach, and mentor entry level engineersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situationsStrong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completionAble to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressureAbility to communicate accurately and comfortably with all levels of managementMust be able to efficiently and accurately create and modify engineering drawingsMotivated self-starter that is able to productively work alone and in groups to solve problemsProficient in English (ready, writing & verbal skills)Experience:B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education.
