Medical Laboratory Scientist

Pursuant to 20 C.F.R. Section 656.10(d), you are hereby notified that this notice is being posted as a result of the filing of Application for Permanent Employment Certification for the above position and as described below:


Perform laboratory testing in all departments of the lab in accordance with conducting high complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88 and the lab's policies and procedures for analysis to meet acceptable levels of analytical performance. Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and arterial punctures, and draw appropriate blood specimens following SOPs for patient identification, specimen collection, labeling, and handling. Follow quality control policies and procedures, documenting all quality control activities, instrument calibration and maintenance. Follow established corrective action policies and procedures when appropriate. Recognize, respond, and follow policies with regard to abnormal test results. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and address as appropriate. Participate in the orientation and training of new staff, performance improvement activities, and demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties including troubleshooting instruments. Participate in yearly laboratory performance plan and other committee activities. Must complete yearly competency and proficiency in all laboratory testing performed. May be assigned other shifts, including weekends, and holidays along with overtime, callback, and on-call.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a closely related field.

Salary : $74,339.20 per year - the employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage, as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.
