Role Description We are seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer for a full-time hybrid role based in the Huntsville-Decatur-Albertville area. The role involves leading and supporting systems engineering activities using MBSE practices and tools, including developing and maintaining system models, architecture, and simulation frameworks. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze and document system requirements, ensuring adherence to system design and operational standards. Some tasks may be completed remotely, though periodic on-site presence in the Huntsville area is required. Qualifications Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering, including tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar software. Experience in developing system architectures, requirements analysis, and system modeling using SysML. Knowledge of nuclear weapons systems, nuclear certification, and/or safety engineering is a significant advantage. Familiarity with digital transformation processes, simulation frameworks, and instructional systems design (ISD). Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a detail-oriented mindset to manage complex engineering tasks. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance) and ITAR export regulations is highly desired. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
