About This Position:

HealthPark Medical Center is an approximately 400-bed acute care hospital and a leading Lee Health facility providing specialized cardiovascular care, comprehensive womens and childrens services, and advanced rehabilitation programs. It is home to the Shipley Cardiothoracic Center, a regional leader in heart and lung care, and is highly recognized for excellence in stroke care, orthopedics, and intensive care services. Located on the same HealthPark campus and physically connected to Golisano Childrens Hospital of Southwest Florida, it supports seamless pediatric-to-adult care across the continuum.

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Lee Health provides occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of the occupational therapist. The COTA implements selected components of patient/client interventions and obtain data related to that intervention; make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the Occupational Therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort; educate and interact Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistant students, technicians, volunteers, patients/clients families, caregivers; and respond to patient/client and environmental emergency situations. The COTA will be expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. About our Rehabilitation Team:

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety of specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

What This Position Requires:

Educational Requirements Required: Associate's in accredited COTA program ; Eligible Lee Health Candidates are required to graduate from an accredited program. The accepted accrediting body required for Lee Health's Rehabilitation Professionals is the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)

State of Florida Licensure Requirements Required: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant License

Certifications/Registration Requirements Required: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support)
