Together We Grow – One Mission, One Team – With a Commitment to Serve Subsidiary: KIRA LLC Job Title: Food Service Worker Work Location: Fairfield, PA Labor Category: Full-Time | Non-Exempt | SCA (Service Contract Act) Clearance Level: Secret Travel Requirement: N/A Pay Rate: $17.75 per hour Health & Welfare: $6.08 per hour, up to 40 hours Scope of Work The Food Service Worker supports Dining Facility (DFAC) operations by preparing, serving, and handling food; maintaining clean and sanitary work areas; and supporting efficient food service operations in accordance with applicable Army standards, contractual requirements, and company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Greet and assist customers in a professional and courteous manner. Prepare and set up dining and serving areas with food, utensils, condiments, and other required supplies. Serve meals on main serving lines, speed lines, and short-order areas and assist with salad, beverage, and other food service stations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas, serving lines, dining areas, equipment, and workspaces. Operate dishwashing equipment and manually clean dishes, silverware, cookware, kitchen tools, and related equipment. Perform basic food preparation, including preparing sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and other menu items, and assist with special orders as required. Restock food service supplies, paper products, cleaning products, and other materials as needed. Perform cashiering duties, including processing payments and providing correct change. Crosstrain and assist with custodial and other operational duties as required to support DFAC operations. Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, occupational safety, security, company, and worksite requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements One (1) year of previous food service or kitchen experience in a full-service or high-volume environment is preferred. Previous experience working in a military dining facility (DFAC) is preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain required ServSafe certification. Must satisfactorily complete and maintain required Food Service Medical Clearance in accordance with applicable Tri-Service Food Code requirements. Must be able to work in an environment where food products and common food allergens, including nuts, dairy, and other allergens, are routinely stored, prepared, handled, and served. Must be able to obtain an interim Secret security clearance prior to the start of employment and obtain and maintain the required fully adjudicated Secret security clearance throughout employment in this position. Must possess and maintain a valid, unexpired REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card as a condition of employment and to meet worksite access requirements. The REAL ID must be maintained throughout employment in this position. Must comply with applicable dress, grooming, personal hygiene, food safety, sanitation, security, and worksite requirements. Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, in accordance with company policy, when operation of a company or government vehicle or equipment is required as part of assigned duties. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position. Physical Demands / Work Environment Work is performed primarily in a fast-paced commercial kitchen and dining facility environment and may involve exposure to heat, cold, noise, wet or slippery surfaces, kitchen equipment, sharp utensils, cleaning chemicals, and food products. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods as required to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to work varying schedules based on operational and mission requirements, including on-call, alternate, and extended shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. To meet contractual and mission requirements, employees may be required to remain on-site for extended periods during scheduled exercises, emergency conditions, or real-world events, including periods of up to 24 hours when required.
