Import Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Import Specialist to join a growing logistics and operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative, data entry, logistics, or import/export experience who enjoys working with documentation, coordinating shipment information, and ensuring accuracy throughout the import process.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain import shipment information accurately within company systems
• Review shipping documentation, product details, country of origin information, importer records, and customs-related data
• Submit import filing information and monitor approval status with U.S. Customs
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to obtain missing shipment details
• Follow up on outstanding documentation to ensure timely processing of import shipments
• Maintain organized electronic records of shipment files, emails, and supporting documentation
• Track shipment activity and update Excel reports to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Assist with obtaining customs bonds and supporting import compliance requirements
• Monitor shipment deadlines and proactively identify potential delays or documentation issues

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in logistics, import/export, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, administrative support, or data entry
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Experience with import documentation, customs filings, ISF filings, freight forwarding, or shipping operations is a plus
