Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) | Haverhill, Massachusetts

Enjoy a structured weekday schedule from 8:15am to 3:15pm, Monday through Friday, giving you a reliable work-life balance. Collaborate with a supportive team as you provide specialized instruction to help students navigate their environment safely, develop critical orientation and mobility skills, and reach key milestones in personal development.


What we're seeking:

• Current, active Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist license in Massachusetts
• Commitment to full onsite work; virtual or remote work is not available
• Previous experience working with K-12 students is highly desirable
• Strong communication abilities to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
• Compassion, flexibility, and a student-focused approach

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting assessments to determine students' orientation and mobility needs
• Designing and delivering individualized instruction for students with visual impairments
• Developing and updating progress reports and instructional plans
• Educating staff and families about O&M best practices
• Ensuring students acquire the tools they need for daily navigation in school and the community
