Make a meaningful impact working with high school students in grades 9–12 as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated classroom environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for passionate educators committed to fostering success for students with diverse needs. You’ll be responsible for providing direct instruction and academic support to a class size of 12–25 students receiving special education services for the majority of the school day.

Your role will involve creating and implementing IEPs, collaborating closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure every student’s growth. This assignment places you in one high school, allowing you to build genuine relationships and consistency in your teaching. The position starts as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, with a full-time, 40-hour work week. Interviews are conducted via Zoom, and decisions are typically made within 24–48 hours following your meeting.

What we're looking for:

• Valid Arizona Special Education Certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Up-to-date AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with instructional strategies for high school students with diverse exceptionalities

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction in a self-contained setting
• Assess student needs and track progress
• Develop, revise, and execute individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Coordinate with paraprofessionals and service providers
• Engage families to foster student support and involvement
• Maintain records in accordance with district policies
