Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT

Under general supervision, provides services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels in all areas served by the department. Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Records treatment information and patient treatment responses in their computerized medical record. Acts as a resource person to medical staff. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provides age-appropriate care to patients. Ensures that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records. Performs as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment is required. Clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and to the age of the patient are necessary. Ability to interpret appropriate information to identify patient needs is essential. Ability to work under stress and maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff is important. Some computer skills are required.
