Landscape/Horticulture Technician

Nature’s Way, a locally owned business, is seeking a dedicated Horticulture Technician to join our close-knit team. Responsibilities

• Maintain flower beds and landscape areas, including weeding and debris removal.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, and hedge trimmers.
• Apply pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals as needed.
• Install and cultivate functional and ornamental plants.
• Transplant and plant flowers, shrubs, and small trees.
• Provide plant care advice to other team members and clients.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift more than 50lbs.
• Reliability, responsibility, punctuality, and dependability.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and backgrounds.
• Good time-management skills and ability to take directions well.
• Flexibility for seasonal hours and weekend work.
• Previous experience and knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, evergreens, trees, and ornamental/native grasses preferred.
• Ability to perform physical installation and maintenance work consistently in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions.
• Must pass a drug screen and maintain a drug-free work environment.

Compensation

From $16.25 per hour
