Position Title: Registered Nurse Intensive Care

Location: Ft Bliss, TX 79906

Work Schedule: Rotating days or nights, 8 or 12-hour shifts; not to exceed 80 hours in a 14-day work period. Pay rate: $43 to $48/hr on w2 with benefits.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Provide care to all critically ill patients in all age groups.
• In the absence of a physician, independently determine and implement proper emergency measures after identifying and interpreting life-threatening conditions and initiating life-saving measures in accordance with current ACLS protocols.
• Adhere to CDC universal precautions and the MTF Infection Control Program at all times; meet all Joint Commission standards.
• Such measures include advance cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mixing and administering resuscitative drugs.
• Perform various pulmonary ventilation treatments such as administration of oxygen and compressed air through various means.
• Administer IV push medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Observe, monitor and assess patients' condition, recognize, identify, interpret serious situations; and call the physician or take preplanned emergency measures when the physician is not immediately available.
• Operate and monitor highly complex technical equipment such as hemodynamic monitoring devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, etc.
• Contractor nursing personnel shall act in a professional manner and be neat, clean, well groomed, and in appropriate clothing when in the performance of their contracted duties. All clothing shall be free of visible dirt and stains and shall fit correctly. The wearing of artificial nails of all types is prohibited.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• Prior military, VA, or federal medical treatment facility (MTF) experience.
• Graduation from a baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state/territory); prime-source verified prior to start and unencumbered.
• Minimum one (1) year of full-time ICU experience within the last year in Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, or Coronary Care Unit.
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS and PALS certification prior to beginning performance of services.
