About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 12 months Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Registered Nurse License: Registered Nurse License in North Carolina or a Compact State Certifications: BLS (CPR) from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Must-Have: ACLS Description: Reviews patient needs and conditions to deliver nursing care in the assigned unit. Ensures that every patient receives the direct and proper care needed. Analyzes patient information, including medical history, diagnostic results, and current condition to develop individualized nursing care plans. Prepares nursing processes, such as medication administration and treatments to provide comprehensive and effective patient care. Reconciles medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Evaluates patient responses to interventions and identifies any additional interventions needed to meet defined goals of care. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure effective care planning. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Experience Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by national nursing organizations. Skills: Blood product administration Cardiac telemetry Central line care and management Chest tube management CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) Feeding tube care and management High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) Interpretation of dysrhythmias Isolation precautions and PPE IV insulin protocols Management of cardiac drips without titration Management of vasoactive drips without titration Management of dysrhythmias Telemetry monitoring Starting and maintaining IVs Tracheostomy care and management Wound care and wound vac Dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG testing Patient Age Groups: Adults and geriatrics Additional Information: Focus on cardiac patients, including acute coronary syndrome, pre and post cardiac catheterization, and arrhythmias. Special procedures include pre and post cardiac surgery and management of heart failure. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Daily patient census is approximately 26 with a total of 28 beds available.
