Business Restructuring & Reorganization Associate

Overview Focuses on Chapter 11 bankruptcies and restructurings. Requires experience representing corporate debtors, creditors committees, individual creditors, and third-party purchasers. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a corporate restructuring/bankruptcy department of a comparable law firm or experience clerking for a bankruptcy judge. Responsibilities include managing client relationships and handling day-to-day workflow for clients at different stages of corporate bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Posting details Cooley LLP has an opportunity available to join the Business Restructuring & Reorganization practice to be based in the New York office. Associates with three to six years of experience at a leading law firm handling Chapter 11 bankruptcies and restructurings are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have: (i) general bankruptcy and restructuring experience representing corporate debtors, creditors committees, individual creditors, and third party purchasers, (ii) experience working in a corporate restructuring/bankruptcy department of a comparable law firm and/or experience clerking for a bankruptcy judge, (iii) experience in managing client relationships and handling day-to-day requirements and work flow requirements of a variety of clients at different stages of corporate bankruptcy and restructuring matters, and (iv) a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school. The expected annual pay range for this position is $260,000-$390,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
