Live-On CoordinatorThe Residence Life Office at the Behrend campus is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team. The Residence Life Office is committed to the development of a safe and inclusive living-learning community that fosters academic, social, cultural, and personal growth. We strive to enable residents to develop respect and responsibility for themselves and their community.The Live-On Coordinator is a vital part of the team in helping to continue the vision and mission of the department. They are responsible to an Associate Director for supervising a staff of up to 16 Resident Assistants, as well as overseeing the daily activities of buildings housing up to 500 students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supervision:Supervises Resident AssistantsConducts regular individual and group supervision meetingsEvaluates Resident Assistant's performanceProvides support and training for Resident AssistantsStudent Development and Residence Education:Assists with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a residence education program for the areaAssists with the development and implementation of campus-wide initiativesAdvises student groups in the areaMakes referrals to University agencies when appropriateMay teach relevant accredited coursesEncourages student involvement in residential and University engagement opportunitiesPromotes student involvement in their residence hall association/hall councilAdvocates for students by communicating their concerns and issues to the appropriate agencyAdvises individual students with academic, career, and personal concernsInterprets and enforces University and residence hall policies and proceduresMediates conflicts between and among studentsConducts meetings with students related to the student code of conductAdministration:Assists with the daily operationsMay maintain budget, review and approve transactionsAssists in promoting the safety and security of residential environments and residential experienceAssists in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Housing and Food Services, Safety and Security, New Student Programs, etcProvides on-call coverage on a rotating basis to include breaks (Fall Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break) and Summer sessions.Community Development:Demonstrates a commitment to students and the quality of their life in the residence hall environmentEncourages Resident Assistants to become well-acquainted with students in the residential communityAssists the Resident Assistants in developing and promoting a positive living environmentPlans and implements programs in conjunction with Resident Assistants and studentsDemonstrates a commitment to staff and student retention and recruitment efforts, particularly as they impact members of underrepresented groupsMiscellaneous:Participates in committees and task force groupsAssists in the recruitment and training of professional staffAssists in the development and implementation of goals for the area and the Residence Hall System Life programPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications:If filled as Residential Education Specialist - Professional, this position requires:Bachelor's DegreeNo prior relevant work experience requiredRequired Certifications: NoneIf filled as Residential Education Specialist - Intermediate Professional, this position requires:Master's DegreeNo prior relevant work experience requiredRequired Certifications: NoneBackground Checks/Clearances:This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.Salary & Benefits:The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $44,628.00 - $71,340.00.
