Underwriter - Contract Surety
Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Underwriter specializing in Contract Surety to join a team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a book of business within a designated territory, develop strategic marketing plans, and contribute to the growth of the organization.
Compensation Package

Competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $125,000 annually
Annual bonus plans
Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
401(k) plan with automatic 3% company contribution
Annual 401(k) and ESOP profit-sharing contributions (up to 15% of eligible earnings)

Responsibilities

Manage profit and loss for a book of business within the assigned territory.
Develop and execute marketing plans to attract new business by targeting key brokers, arranging meetings, and attending industry events.
Perform underwriting functions, including financial analysis, account analysis, and industry analysis, while adhering to underwriting guidelines and authority limits.
Serve as a resource on underwriting and territory-related issues for team members across the country.
Travel as needed to meet with agents, contractors, and attend surety-related events within the assigned territory.
Lead special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, risk management, business, or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in Contract Surety underwriting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply strategic perspectives to underwriting processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and meet objectives.
Experience in presenting findings and recommendations to management.
