About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP, Programs to lead the implementation of its community program offerings. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing strategies to recruit, coach, and manage volunteers, with a focus on building a grassroots movement that aligns with the organization's goals. This role involves cultivating key community connections, driving the success of community offerings, and expanding their reach, particularly in underrepresented and rural areas. The VP, Programs will also be tasked with overseeing the entire state of Ohio, managing a team, and actively contributing to day-to-day work and deliverables. Essential functions include building and activating volunteer networks, securing community partner agreements, and demonstrating cross-functional collaborative leadership to foster a culture of long-term community impact and volunteer engagement. Applicants for the VP, Programs position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least 7 years' of experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers, with a background in community health and volunteer mobilization being a plus. The role requires a confident, goal-oriented individual with a proven track record in cultivating community partnerships and leading teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in community-based program planning and implementation, be adept at working with diverse communities, and demonstrate a commitment to inclusion. The position demands a self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and who is willing to travel extensively within the state. Strong computer skills and the ability to work with a highly matrixed organization are also essential.
