Ensure calendars of events are posted prominently in the community for residents and visitors.Effectively leverage technology to enhance engagement for residents and as a tool for team members to effectively engage residents.Lead planning for special events, parties, and larger events for the entire community, including Memory Care in conjunction with other team members.Participate in Vital Connections process and meetings with new residents and their family members.•Ensure the completion of resident life journals.Identify residents who are at risk for isolation, develop specific plans to enhance connections for those individuals, maximize resident engagement participation, and assist with escorting residents to activities or events as needed.Directly supervise the performance of Engagement Coordinator(s) and/or Transportation staff as well as indirectly supervise Wellness team members with respect to engagement assignments and duties.Participate in the Leader on Duty rotation to include team member supervision, conducting tours, problem-solving, community walk-through, etc.Set up, organize, and communicate programming that other team members can facilitate throughout the day and during the absence of the Engagement Director (weekends, evenings, PTO, etc.).Establish and maintain quarterly event planning session with Culinary Services, Sales, and Memory Care leaders; maintain necessary communication amongst leaders to ensure successful events for residents, families, and the community at large.Organize and maintain appropriate supplies for resident engagement in line with departmental budget as well as tracks expenses on community spend down.Coordinate outings, special events, and partnerships with the community at large to enhance overall engagement experience for residents.Communicate observations of resident changes or concerns with Wellness team in a timely manner.Develop strong relationships with family members of residents.Develop relationships with volunteer programs, cultural, artistic, intergenerational, and other groups within the community at large that can provide resources to enhance engagement program.Perform other duties as assigned.SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:At least 2 years of experience working with older adults in an engagement role.Knowledge of aging and domains of wellness for older adults and ability to apply knowledge to development of engagement programming.Ability to facilitate dignified, purposeful, and individualized programming to meet the needs of residents, family, and team members.Desire to work with older adults and their families.Projects a positive and professional image at all times.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical Demands include: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Grasping, Manual Dexterity, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Vision Acuity, Color Vision, Talking, Hearing, Tasting, and Smelling.The weight determined to be appropriate for an Engagement Director to lift with or without reasonable accommodations is up to 25 lbs.EXPOSURE RISK CLASSIFICATION:May perform unplanned tasks involving exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue which may contain AIDS, HIV, and Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses. #J-18808-Ljbffr
