Manufacturing EngineerThe RoleAs a Manufacturing Engineer at Parma, you will play a critical role in advancing our maintenance systems to world-class standards through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, solution design, implementation, and optimization of press and automation systems that support stamping operations.In this role, you will contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions that improve safety, quality, throughput, and reliability. You will be responsible for maintaining press systems in optimal operating condition, developing maintenance plans that define technical resources and spare parts requirements, identifying process improvement opportunities, and supporting the effective use of equipment, tooling, materials, and personnel.This position requires sound technical judgment, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across a broad range of mechanical and manufacturing systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, suppliers, plant teams, and controls engineers. In addition to leading technical initiatives, you may provide directions to engineers, group leaders, and skilled trades to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and effectively.What You'll Do (Responsibilities)Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve press system issuesAnalyze existing systems and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, reliability, speed, and overall performanceTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving equipment, machinery, and automation systemsSupport continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost performancePerform design analysis for mechanical systems and manufacturing equipmentDevelop and maintain technical documentation related to equipment and system design, development, and implementationMonitor and support key maintenance metrics, including MTTR, MTBF, downtime, and uptimePartner with internal teams and external suppliers to implement cost-reduction strategies and manufacturing improvementsSupport training for production and plant personnel on the operation and maintenance of press and automation systemsSpecify, procure, develop, integrate, and validate press system solutions for stamping operationsYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)3+ years of experience in press shop production and maintenance of manufacturing machinery and equipmentKnowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumaticsUnderstanding of engineering theory, manufacturing methods, and equipment operating principlesExperience managing projects involving changing production schedules, budget constraints, and multiple stakeholdersProficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft ProjectExperience using CAD and engineering systems such as AutoCAD, Unigraphics, SOLIDWORKS, Teamcenter, or Teamcenter VisualizationStrong problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous situationsHigh level of integrity and the ability to work independentlyAbility to work effectively under pressureStrong sense of urgencyResults-oriented mindsetWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)5+ years of experience in stamping and maintenanceExperience Transfer Press systemsHands-on experience operating and troubleshooting industrial machinery or automation systemsSAP system proficiencyMAXIMO maintenance management system proficiencyGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
