Project Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Review and approve of Engineering documentation and designs for compliance throughout project lifecycle

Responsible for reviewing documentation and design prior to IFC on behalf of construction based on relevant Tesla and industry standards.

Offsite inspection for their related disciplines

Identify and provide a path of resolution to technical field issues as they arise in collaboration with engineering, applicable contractors, and other parties as required

Support development/review of project scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource requirements

Evaluate root cause analysis and lessons learned that are related to engineering/technical deviations

Ensure all field activities are being executed per project specifications, procedures, and current design documents

Skills and Requirements

Requirements:

Degree in engineering

5+ years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants) 

Previous experience on $200M+ projects, preferably with experience on both “owner” and “contractor” side

Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills are a must

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and scheduling software (Microsoft Projects/P6) 

Willingness to spend a moderate percentage of time in the field

Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals

Background: Engineering and Design Pluses:
