Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients and families, synthesizing data into a cohesive plan of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care outcomes and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care.
• Identify and address discharge planning needs, cultural and ethnic considerations, and patient/family education in coordination with multidisciplinary resources.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe and secure hospital environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC.
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in an emergency department or acute care setting.
