Position Summary The Line Cook I is responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations through basic food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role works closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and kitchen team to ensure efficient service and adherence to food safety standards. Key Responsibilities Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients Prepare simple dishes under the direction of senior kitchen staff Support the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations and service line Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans Ensure proper sanitation and adherence to food safety standards at all times Store food properly and assist with inventory organization under supervision Support the team during busy meal periods to ensure smooth service Complete additional prep, cleaning, or support tasks as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred, but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures accurately Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team ServSafe certification (or equivalent) required or ability to obtain Why Join Heirloom?
