Continuous Improvement Specialist

Job Summary The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for the implementation and management of the plant's CI initiative. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Establishes and builds the plant's Continuous Improvement Team Manages the activities of the plant's Continuous Improvement Evaluates operations throughout the plant to identify areas of waste and opportunities for improvement Facilitates VSM and Kaizen activities Develops, prioritizes, and implements solutions to reduce waste and improve performance Documents improvements and develops standard work instructions Teachers, coaches, and mentors all levels of employees in Continuous Improvement and manufacturing principles Trains employees to identify and eliminate waste Develops and manages programs to foster employee involvement to promote a Continuous Improvement culture Attends seminars, lectures, and training classes on Continuous Improvement and shares gained knowledge with plant staff Staff develops and coaches the production management team, evaluates performance, and initiates corrective action as required Prepares regular and special reports as required Performs other duties as required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent experience is required Minimum three to five years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment Proficiency in the use of MS Excel/spreadsheets is required Working knowledge of 5s, Kanban, standardized workflow, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and visual environment/factory Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP's organization and product lines The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr UFP Industries, Inc
