Chipton-Ross is seeking an Accountant 2 for a contract/hybrid opportunity in one of the following locations: Irving, TX, Redondo Beach, CA, Bloomington, MN, or Falls Church, VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years in accounting or finance work experience.
• Ability to work from one of our office locations in Irving, TX, Redondo Beach, CA, Bloomington, MN, or Falls Church, VA, minimum two days per week and for in person meetings/events.
• Understanding of GAAP, accounting practices, and standards and CAS/FAS requirements.
• Working knowledge and understanding of ERP systems, especially SAP S/4.
• Proven ability to multi-task, produce quality results, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Work effectively with geographically dispersed team and customer.
• Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) experience, including the ability to manipulate / analyze data, utilize macros, and summarize data within Excel.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review journal entries, potentially including accruals, intercompany, or international accounting transactions.
• Prepare account reconciliations as assigned in Blackline and resolve reconciling issues.
• Support the month end, quarter, and year end accounting close requirements. This includes assisting with the review of trial balances, loading GL and required schedule data to reporting system (and reviewing / validating accuracy, as well as resolving errors), and reconciling GL and required schedule data to reporting system.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the organizations and processes assigned, ensuring positive interactions and good written and verbal communications. May develop and deliver presentations.
• Respond to ad hoc data requests, inquiries, and problem resolution, including audit requests.
• Participate in / coordinate special projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

• Working knowledge of SAP S/4 and Costpoint general ledger ERP systems.
• Experience with Blackline.
• Certified Public Accountant.
• Big 4 experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required.

School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS

5/40 workweek. Hybrid position. Ability to work from one of our office locations in Irving, TX, Redondo Beach, CA, Bloomington, MN, or Falls Church, VA, minimum two days per week and for in person meetings/events. Teleworking arrangements are subject to change based on the needs of the business.
