Assistant General Manager

Position Summary Southern Hospitality Company, an entity of Southern Land Company, headquartered in Nashville, TN, seeks a full‑time Assistant General Manager to open our new Italian restaurant, Lupo Notte. The successful candidate will work independently in a fast‑paced environment and will be supported by the General Manager. The AGM directs and oversees all front‑of‑house operations, including personnel performance management, beverage menu mix, ordering, vendor relations, and beer, wine and liquor inventory. Ultimate responsibility lies for guest satisfaction and financial performance. Essential Functions Owns the service mission statement and leads by example. Coordinates recruiting, hiring, coaching, training, and fosters teamwork. Supervises and mentors associates to ensure adherence to Southern Hospitality Standards. Maintains a strong, highly visible and professional presence with guests. Oversees operations to ensure a smooth and consistent experience, high guest satisfaction, quality food, and exemplary service. Directly oversees the beverage program, including purchasing and monthly inventory of all beer, wine, liquor and NA beverage product. Supports the General Manager in developing and implementing marketing programs to increase guest traffic. In coordination with GM & Executive Chef, prepares and monitors the annual budget, revenue goals, and expenses, and produces various business volume forecasts. Implements corrective procedures to help meet budget goals. Consistently monitors payroll and labor resource allocations to align with financial forecasting and goals. Ensures adherence to health, safety, liquor consumption, and food and beverage regulations. Ensures effective and efficient staffing and scheduling, balancing financial objectives with guest satisfaction. Establishes and upholds expectations for cleanliness, dress, decorum, and other service standards, monitoring adherence. Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Maintains inventory levels, ordering amounts, timing of orders, receiving, invoice settlement, and equipment maintenance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Functional knowledge of the POS system, hardware, software, and menu programming. Strong understanding of beverage program management. Willingness to step into operations during all hands‑on‑deck periods. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Capable of keeping sensitive information confidential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, able to deal professionally with clients, vendors, and colleagues. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, initiative, sound judgment. Sense of urgency and attention to detail, carrying multiple projects to completion. Works independently and collaboratively, prioritizes work, and asks for clarification when necessary. Works under pressure with tight time constraints and handles frequent interruptions and changes. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four‑year college or university; or three to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must obtain a Tennessee ABC Server Card within the first 90 days on property. Must hold a SERVSafe certification. Previous experience as Assistant General Manager in restaurant operations.
