Electrical Engineer

PIVIT Group is in search if an experienced Electrical Engineer who provides experienced, task-based electrical engineering support to the Electrical Engineering executing utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) designs. The role is intended for an engineer who can independently complete clearly defined assignments with limited direction. Typical work includes reviewing technical drawings, evaluating, and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), developing bills of material, selecting, or specifying electrical hardware, and reviewing or performing electrical studies. Assignments will be discrete individual tasks rather than end-to-end ownership of a project or design package.

The primary expectation is reliable technical execution. The Electrical Engineer will apply practical electrical engineering experience, applicable codes, project requirements, and sound judgment to complete assigned work accurately and on schedule. The individual should be able to identify missing information, document assumptions, raise technical risks early, and deliver work that is ready for review or use by the broader project team.

Primary Responsibilities
Technical Drawing Review
• Review electrical drawings, design packages, vendor drawings, and technical submittals for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, constructability concerns, missing details, quantity conflicts, and interfaces requiring clarification.
• Provide clear, actionable review comments and document the basis for recommended revisions.
RFI and Construction Support
• Review owner, subcontractor, vendor, and field RFIs related to assigned electrical scopes.
• Research applicable drawings, specifications, calculations, codes, and vendor information to develop technical sound responses.
• Coordinate with the responsible project or lead engineer when an RFI affects design basis, contract scope, cost, schedule, or another discipline.
Bills of Material and Material Takeoffs
• Develop and verify bills of material and material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and defined installation requirements.
• Confirm descriptions, quantities, ratings, sizes, accessories, and related hardware are complete and aligned with the intended installation.
• Document assumptions, exclusions, and unresolved quantity or configuration questions.
Hardware Selection and Specification
• Select and specify electrical hardware for assigned applications, including ratings, materials, configurations, environmental requirements, and required accessories.
• Compare proposed products or vendor information against project requirements and identify technical deviations.
• Prepare concise technical specifications, data requirements, or procurement information for assigned materials and equipment.
Task Execution and Communication
• Manage assigned tasks independently, maintain clear status, and deliver work within agreed priorities and due dates.
• Use company standards, project design criteria, contract documents, and applicable codes as the basis for work.
• Communicate questions, assumptions, constraints, and potential impacts early rather than allowing ambiguity to carry into procurement or construction.
• Maintain organized and reviewable supporting documentation for completed work.

Scope
• Work will primarily consist of clearly defined, individual engineering tasks assigned by a Lead Electrical Engineer, Project Engineering Manager, or other designated project lead.
• The role is not expected to provide overall project management, personnel supervision, or full-project technical leadership unless specifically included in an assignment.
• More complex decisions, design-basis changes, or issues with significant commercial or project impacts should be elevated to the designated project technical owner.

Basic Qualifications
• Demonstrated general electrical engineering experience sufficiently to independently review technical drawings, evaluate RFIs, develop bills of material, and specify electrical hardware.
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, equipment and material specifications, construction documentation, and engineering change processes.
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code; knowledge of NESC and NFPA 70E where relevant to assigned work.
• Ability to interpret project specifications, design criteria, vendor documentation, and contract requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, technical writing ability, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline with relevant electrical experience.
• Experience supporting construction or EPC projects in utility-scale solar, BESS, power generation, industrial facilities, utilities, or other electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with medium-voltage collection systems, grounding, cable systems, electrical equipment, raceways, and installation hardware.
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar tools to review drawings and perform material takeoffs.
• Experience reviewing vendor submittals, product data, substitutions, and technical deviations.
• Experience supporting procurement, field engineering, commissioning, or construction issue resolution.
