FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (PART TIME)

Job Summary Position: Food Service Worker/Cashier (part‑time). Hiring immediately. Location: Amesbury Public Schools, 5 Highland Street, Amesbury, MA 01913. Pay: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour. Schedule: Part‑time, 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM; days may vary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food‑safety and rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Relay relevant information to supervisor. Perform sales transactions: enter sales into the cash register, make change, accept card payments and other acceptable forms of payment, issue receipts, and follow procedures for issuing cash refunds. Manage cash drawer: ensure compliance with overage/shortage standards and handle assigned change funds and cash receipts. Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned.
