CNS Associate

Overview The Culinary and Nutritional Service Associate I or II provides assistance in all culinary functions in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local regulations to ensure daily delivery of quality nutritional services and maintain clean, safe, and sanitary culinary areas. Responsibilities Operations Management (75%) – Includes: Perform day‑to‑day culinary functions to serve meals and snacks that are palatable and appetizing, providing residents with an exceptional dining experience. Assist in serving meals on a timely basis; deliver food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas and work in serveries. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures. Ensure culinary work areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner. Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties such as cleaning work stations, counters, refrigerators/freezers, sweeping and mopping floors, washing dishes, removing garbage, and keeping work areas free of hazardous equipment and supplies. Assist in executing special events and participate in their planning and preparation. Distribute, collect, and count menus as necessary. Quality and Compliance Management (10%) – Includes: Ensure quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices are maintained during departmental procedures. Maintain confidentiality of resident care information. Share observations and insights that may improve quality and efficiencies. Attend all‑employee and departmental meetings and in‑service training as scheduled. Customer Relations and Service Delivery (10%) – Includes: Listen and respond to the needs of residents and staff members. Help residents and visitors feel welcome and comfortable. Administration and Reporting (5%) – Includes: Maintain current and accurate records using computers and/or other documentation in accordance with company standards and regulatory guidelines. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Food service experience a plus, but not required. On‑the‑job training provided. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Working Conditions & Other Requirements Work schedule: Sitting up to 2 hours/day, standing up to 8 hours/day, walking up to 8 hours/day. Lifting, transferring, pushing or pulling residents/patients or equipment/supplies up to 50 pounds. Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Subject to falls, burns, odors, cuts, sudden temperature changes when entering/leaving refrigerator/freezer. Exposure to residents/patients with various disease processes, including infectious waste and diseases such as AIDS and Hepatitis B.
