Courier/Swing Drvr/CDL-1

Job Overview Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages; checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; provides coverage for assigned routes; delivers customer service; includes dangerous goods packages requiring placarding. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education High school diploma/GED Minimum Experience Six (6) months courier experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge; ability to lift 50 lbs; maneuver packages above 50 lbs with equipment or assistance; good human relations and verbal communication; thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred; demonstrated adaptability, dependability and excellent courier methods; meet and maintain qualifications per federal motor carrier safety regulations; pass FedEx Express & regulatory/statutory background checks or security threat assessments; be at least 21 years; ability to read and speak English to understand traffic signs and communicate. Job Conditions FMCSA covered safety‑sensitive position; medical exam required; subject to regulatory alcohol and drug testing (marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, opioids). Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for the assigned vehicle type; maintain a good driving record as outlined in policy.
