Structural Engineer II

What You’ll Do Provide structural engineering analysis and design of building structures, including sport facilities, airport facilities, transit facilities, and more in support of HNTB’s national architectural practice. Provide structural engineering analysis and design of framing and foundation systems for steel, concrete, post‑tensioned concrete, masonry, and wood building frame systems. Perform structural engineering services during the construction phase such as responding to construction questions, reviewing contractor submittals, and conducting construction site observations. Prepare design drawings and/or specifications. Be technically involved in the design of building structures, performing detailed checks of engineering work done by others and coordinating specific design aspects into a project. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience. What You’ll Bring Core structural engineering skills in steel, concrete, and masonry. Basic understanding of Building Codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI). Experience with structural software (Revit/BIM 360 and either ETABS, SAP2000, or RISA 3D). Ability to work in a mentored team environment with good oral and written communication skills. Responsibility for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope. What We Prefer EIT certification. Master's degree in architectural engineering or civil engineering with a primary focus on structures. Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP 2000, ETABS, RISA 3D, Enercalc, and TEDDS. Membership in a professional practice organization. Additional Information Locations: Bellevue, WA (Seattle), Seattle, WA (Downtown). Pay Range: Greater Seattle, WA metro area $85,580.52 – $128,370.78; nationwide $74,417.85 – $139,533.46.
