Laboratory Technician

Base pay range $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr Pay: $22-$25 Job Description Join a dynamic Quality Control Seed Health Testing team where your work ensures the integrity and safety of agricultural products. This role offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced laboratory environment, supporting critical testing processes that impact global food security. Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory assays including Bacteriology, PCR, ELISA, Mycology , and greenhouse‑based tests following established SOPs. Prepare samples for testing and maintain accurate records in Word, Excel, and LIMS databases . Manage lab inventory, prepare buffers and media, and maintain equipment. Support general lab operations including dishwashing and housekeeping. Complete independent projects alongside routine work as assigned. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards. Manual labor tasks such as weighing seed samples, grinding, and preparing buffers for sample prep. Assist senior lab technicians with prepping seeds for analytical testing. Must-Haves 1+ years of experience with a STEM education background. Strong interest and aptitude for working in a lab environment. Reliable attendance and availability for the entire contract. Interest in STEM. Plusses Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field. Agricultural/Crop Science background (seed industry experience is a big plus). Soft Skills Teamwork and strong communication skills. Attention to detail and quality. Effective time management and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Comfortable working in a lab setting with ~10 other people. Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends to meet business needs.
