Just a great team.Job Summary: The Tax Manager assists in overseeing the firm's tax compliance, reporting and planning functions along with reviewing complex tax returns, ensuring adherence to federal, state and local regulations, developing tax-savings strategies and mentoring Tax staff.Responsibilities and Duties:Ownership of tax return preparation of individual, trust and various types of business returns;Direct client responsibilities and interaction;Research and communicate complex tax issues;Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records;Ensure clients comply with IRS regulations and meet their state and federal tax obligations; andReview client financial records, income statements and expenditures; Assist clients with tax planning, identifying opportunities for both tax savings and great long-term decisions.Qualifications and Requirements:5+ years previous experience in a Tax Department of a Public Accounting firm or other significant tax experience;Tax return preparation of individual, trust and various types of business returns;Certified Public Accountant license;Ability to research and communicate complex tax issues;Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills andWillingness to interact directly with clients while delivering high quality service and helping maintain positive client relationships.The Tax Manager should be proficient in the following or similar software:Ultra TaxThomson Reuters Engagement Manager software (or similar trial balance software)Microsoft Excel and WordBenefits and Perks:Terrific local firm culture.No minimum chargeable hour requirement.
