Engagement Model

• On-site presence : Roughly 20 hours per week , ideally across 3 days, in Chicago (primary) or New York (secondary) .
• Pair programming model : The consultant must work side-by-side with internal squads, teaching while building. Remote work alone is not acceptable-onsite collaboration ensures accountability and prevents the team from offloading everything.

Core Role

• An "agentic AI expert" with real production experience building and deploying agents using LangGraph, LangChain, or an equivalent agent framework (not just low-code tools like ChatGPT plug-ins or Copilot Studio).
• This person should already know the pitfalls and best practices of agentic architectures (e.g., how to structure agent communication and avoid common loops/failures).

Deliverables & Expectations

• Quick impact is critical : tangible progress and agents in production within the first month.
• If the consultant is strong, Derek will extend beyond the initial term and even consider full-time conversion.
• If there's no value delivery, he will end the contract early.

Environment & Support

• Infrastructure readiness already has AI infrastructure, chatbots, and security in place. The gap is expertise , not tooling.
• Team size : About 30 people in each location (NY or Chicago) who will collaborate with the consultant.
• Budget : Top-of-market rates are approved, so compensation won't be a blocker.

Provides subject matter expertise in the requested technology or application. Assists client in implementing, upgrading or optimizing specific technology. Utilizes professional expertise to perform analysis, project management and/or development activities with technology. Requires demonstrated subject matter expertise in the specified technical area.
