Title: RN - Obstetrics / Med-Surg
Location: Atlantic, IA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights - every third weekend
Weekly Gross: Up to $2600/week (Based on experience)

Position Summary

This position combines Obstetrics and Medical-Surgical nursing responsibilities. The RN will primarily provide care to obstetric patients but must be willing and able to float to the Med-Surg unit when there are no obstetric patients.

Obstetrics Includes:

• Labor & Delivery
• Postpartum Care
• Recovery

Key Responsibilities

Obstetrics RN Duties

• Assess, monitor, and care for laboring mothers and newborns
• Assist with labor and delivery procedures
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being
• Provide postpartum care and patient education
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments
• Respond to obstetrical emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Med-Surg RN Duties

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform patient assessments and develop care plans
• Administer medications and treatments
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient education
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members

Requirements

Licensure

• Active RN License Required
• License must be active at time of submission

Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP

Preferred Certifications

The facility will also consider candidates holding any of the following specialty certifications:

• CPI
• ENPC
• TNCC
• AWHONN
• STABLE
• ASLS
• NBSTSA
• APHON
• CMA
• CCM
• ARMA

Experience

• Obstetrics / Labor & Delivery experience preferred
• Med-Surg experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently in a rural critical access hospital environment
