Location: Decatur, IL

Position Summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Temporary Shipping Terminal Laborer to support daily operations at the cement distribution terminal in Decatur, Illinois. This position is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient loading, unloading, storage, and shipment of cement products while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe terminal environment. The successful candidate will work closely with terminal operators, truck drivers, and maintenance personnel to meet customer delivery requirements and operational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with loading bulk cement into customer trucks and railcars.
• Direct truck traffic and communicate with drivers regarding loading procedures.
• Monitor loading operations to ensure product quality and compliance with terminal procedures.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, shoveling, dust control, and general facility cleanup.
• Inspect terminal equipment and report operational issues or safety concerns.
• Assist with inventory counts and documentation.
• Support preventative maintenance activities and minor repairs as assigned.
• Operate basic equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (training provided as required).
• Follow all Heidelberg Materials safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures.
• Complete required logs, checklists, and work orders accurately and timely.
• Assist with other terminal operations and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
