Special Security Technician - Mid

Position: Special Security Technician (SST) LCAT: Mid Location: Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Hampton, Virginia / On-site Office: U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command Required clearance: TS/SCI, ability to pass a polygraph Required education: Master’s degree OR a bachelor’s degree plus 5 additional years of senior-level experience (for a total of 15 years’ experience); Minimum of 10 years of experience in security administration, SCI/SAP programs, or related DoD/IC security roles, with recent experience within the last 2 years. This position is contingent upon award of contract. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Special Security Technician (SST) to support Air Combat Command (ACC) security programs, including Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Special Access Programs (SAP), and collateral security activities. The SST plays a critical role in the protection of classified information, facilities, systems, and personnel by supporting Special Security Office (SSO) and program security functions. This position requires a strong understanding of security policies, procedures, and controlled environments within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). The selected candidate will provide advanced security administration, oversight, and compliance support across personnel, physical, industrial, and information security domains. This role requires deep expertise in security program management, SCIF/SAPF accreditation, and cybersecurity integration, ensuring adherence to DoD, IC, and Air Force security policies and directives. Responsibilities Support Special Security Office (SSO) and program security operations Assist with the administration and control of classified documents, materials, and media Maintain accountability records, logs, and databases for classified holdings Support personnel security activities, including access control, visit requests, and indoctrinations Assist with security briefings, debriefings, and nondisclosure documentation Support secure facility operations, including controlled access areas (SCIFs) Ensure compliance with DoD, IC, and program-specific security directives and procedures Coordinate with government security managers and stakeholders as required Identify and report security incidents, discrepancies, or vulnerabilities Safeguard classified information and maintain proper handling, storage, and destruction procedures Required Experience Understanding of DoD and Intelligence Community security policies and procedures Experience supporting classified programs, facilities, or security offices Knowledge of controlled access environments (e.g., SCIF operations) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation Proficiency with standard office tools and security-related databases Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Desired Qualifications Prior experience supporting ACC or MAJCOM-level security programs Experience with SAP programs and CAP administration Completion of Air Force or DoD security training programs (e.g., SSO courses) #J-18808-Ljbffr Nalley Consulting
